Blessed

( Blessed // Thanksgiving 2011 )

Thanksgiving 2011 // Without fail, my days become busier each year as the holidays come closer, but even more so with a new project taking up a good chunk of my time. So thankful to still have new opportunities that allow me to meet new girl friends, get hands-on creative and design for everyday life, and receive discounted clothes from my favorite brand :)

How amazing is all the food that my talented boyfriend-chef cooked for Thanksgiving? We had a quiet celebration with just us three, saving our visits to California to spend time with family and friends in December. I hope your holidays were and will be full of happy times! Thank you for visiting, and if things get quieter than usual around here, I’ll be around on Twitter or Instagram.

Elemental

( Elemental // November 2011 )

November 2011 // Those leaves? They make every gloomy, grey, oppressively cold day like today worthwhile.

Creature

This suburban SGV girl enjoys spotting creatures — from the domestic to the more wild to the simply unfamiliar — on her daily walks around the neighborhood. Can you spot them too?

Stop

( Short Stop // Montlake )

24th Ave & Lynn St, Montlake // There’s that feeling in the air — anticipation for big changes, the promise of something new and exciting, lots to look forward to. Taking the time to enjoy a more relaxing moment while I have it.

Crisp

( Fall 2011 // Washington Park Arboretum )

Washington Park Arboretum // It’s the first of November, my favorite time of the year. Word is that this winter will be another wet one, so I’ve been getting my fill of crisp and clear autumn days while I still can. We took another visit to the arboretum last weekend. The change in color is stunning. It is a blessing to be celebrating another year around at a time when there is so much beauty outside to see.

Fright

( Halloween 2011 // Pieces from the Nordic Fashion Biennale )

Halloween 2011 // Delighting in all things skulled, laced, and dark in hue today, including some of these amazing pieces that I spotted at the Nordic Fashion Biennale over the weekend. Have a frightful holiday.

Spun

( Spider webs + rain drops // Seattle, WA )

I’m so scared of spiders. I cannot be around one. Then I moved to Seattle in the summertime and all of a sudden they were EVERYWHERE. I had to put up or shut up. And I guess I did. And just in time to admire my eight-legged neighbors spin these beauties after a shower.

Lately I’ve been dealing with more substantial fears, mainly in regards to my career. It’s been quite the experience to stop being so afraid and step up to new challenges — I’m learning more about what I want, what I’m good at, and what I have the potential to do.

Fear plays an interesting role in our lives. How dare we let it motivate us? How dare we let it into our decision making, into our livelihoods, into our relationships? It’s funny, isn’t it, we take a day to dress up in costume and celebrate fear?

Frequent

( Oddfellows Cafe // Capitol Hill )

Capitol Hill // There are so many Seattle restaurants and cafes on my list that I have yet to visit, but I’ve already fallen into a pattern of places I like to frequent. Oddfellows is one of them. Good coffee, delicious pastries, comfort food, and well-dressed people in a beautiful space make for a good standby.

Cinematic

( Pike Place Market // Seattle, WA )

Pike Place Market // October 22, 9:30 pm. One of the many pictures I took on the new iPhone 4S this weekend, but by far my favorite. Didn’t notice the classically stylish couple captured in frame until after. So good.

Eyeing

( Chloe Rivet Tip Glasses // Elzabeth & James Centinela Glasses )

Last year around the same time was when I first spotted the 3.1 Phillip Lim Chloris eyeglasses at his SoHo store, the purple gradient frames that have become more or less an intrinsic part of my everyday look. Now I’m currently eyeing a new pair, this time in a basic brown or black hue. These two from Chloe and Elizabeth & James featured on Shopbop’s J Brand lookbook look great, no? Too bad they’re sold out!
