Branching

I took home these 5- and 6-foot-long branches from my part-time job as a visual merchandiser. Oh yes, there were birds included. Now, what to do with them? Loving the ideas I found on Apartment Therapy to use it as a shelf, to hang lighting, or to display clothes. I’m leaning towards the lamp idea, but would love to hear suggestions!

Just found your blog and as a relatively new Seattlelite myself, completely love how you’ve portrayed the city. =)

I like the lamp idea.  Or somehow fashioning it into some kind of light fixture/chandelier.  I have to mention this warning though – my friend repurposed some huge tree trunks into a doorway at his loft and said that when he started sanding them, bugs came out. @_@  BEWARE!

Thank you Tramanh! I consider myself still new to Seattle, even after a year, so it’s always nice to meet new people/fellow bloggers in this little city. And I appreciate the heads up! Will be on the lookout for any creatures :)

Going to check out IKEA this weekend and see if there’s any good lamps to use. I really need some good lighting in my living room!
